No. 9 Bulldogs face No. 5 Cowgirls in Stillwater on Saturday

FRESNO, Calif. -Â The No. 9 Fresno State equestrian team heads east to face No. 5 Oklahoma State on Saturday, March 9. Riding against the Cowgirls is set for 8:00 a.m. PT at Totusek Arena.Â

Fresno State sits at No. 9 in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Farnam Team Rankings for the third consecutive rankings announcements, moving up from No. 10 at the beginning of the spring season.Â

QUICK LOOK AT THE BULLDOGS
Fresno State is fresh off of a 12-4 road win at UC Davis last Saturday. The four points earned by the Aggies were the fewest that Fresno State has allowed in any competition this season. The Bulldogs swept each of the Western events for the first time this season.Â

Fresno State has chalked a 4-6 record this season while going 2-1 in competition this spring.Â

The Bulldogs have earned a 22-21-3 overall record in Horsemanship with redshirt sophomore Nicole Campbell leading the way with seven wins and four MOPs. Freshman Brooklyn Moch follows with five wins and only one loss in her first collegiate season. Fellow freshman Alexis Steele has been a bright light in the Bulldogs' horsemanship lineup, earning a 2-1 record with two MOPs in competitions this spring.Â

In the hunt seat division, senior Alexandra Dirickson leads the way in Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat. The four-year Bulldog has a team-best six wins and an MOP honor in Equitation Over Fences and a team-high five wins with two MOPs in Equitation on the Flat. Â

The NCEA released the latest Events Rankings on Feb. 20 and the 'Dogs cracked the Top 15 in all four disciplines. Fresno State sits at No. 12 in Equitation on the Flat, No. 11 in Equitation Over Fences, No. 10 in Reining and No. 4 in Horsemanship.Â

Oklahoma State moved up a spot to No. 5 in the latest Farnam Team Rankings, the organization announced on Tuesday. The Cowgirls are 6-5 on the season with a perfect 4-0 mark at home.Â

The Cowgirls are on a four-game winning streak dating back to Feb. 16 against SMU. Oklahoma State most recently defeated South Dakota State on March. 2, 11-5. The Cowgirls have moved up three spots from No. 8 since their home victory over then-No. 2 SMU.Â

Sophomore hunt seat rider Katie Schell was named the Big 12 Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month for February after going 3-0 with wins over then-No. 2 SMU, then-No. 8 TCU and then-No. 5 Baylor. The sophomore has won five of her last six matchups in the Fences this season.Â

Oklahoma State ranked No. 2 in Reining, No. 6 in Horsemanship, No. 8 in Equitation Over Fences and No. 11 in Equitation on the Flat in the latest NCEA Events Rankings.

The Bulldogs own a 1-7 all-time record over Oklahoma State. Fresno State's only win against OSU came in a home dual in 2008 when the 'Dogs edged the Cowgirls, 10-9.Â
