Bulldogs set for 2019 NCEA National Championships

WACO, Texas - The Fresno State equestrian team is set for its National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship run, slated to begin on Wednesday. Although not one of the eight teams selected to compete for the team title in Waco, the 'Dogs earned a spot in each of the four event title championships.

'Dogs in the Events Rankings
Horsemanship - No. 5 seed
Equitation on the Flat - No. 10 seed
Reining - No. 11 seed
Equitation Over Fences - No. 13 seed

The events will be broadcasted on EQSportsNet and live scoring will be available at the NCEA Championship website as well as on the team's Twitter.

Horsemanship
The 'Dogs will go up against No.12-seeded South Carolina in the Horsemanship event. The event is slated for a 12 p.m. PT start time on Wednesday.

The winner of the event will move on to face the winner of No. 4 SMU and No. 13 UC Davis.

Last Time against the Gamecocks in Horsemanship
Fresno State faced South Carolina on Nov. 9, 2018 at the Student Horse Center.

The Horsemanship squads saw an even 2-2 draw with the Bulldog points being won by freshman Brooklyn Moch and redshirt sophomore Nicole Campbell. Campbell earned MOP honors in the event with a 77 to her opponent's 67.

Freshman Kameron Thorn tied in her ride with a 75.5.

Bulldogs in the Horsemanship
The 'Dogs are ranked the highest in program history at No. 5 in the event.

The Fresno State Horsemanship squad has chalked a 32-28-4. Led by Campbell who has a 10-4 mark with five MOP honors this season. Moch follows with a 6-4 mark. Both Horsemanship riders were recognized by the NCEA for their efforts this season.

Equitation on the Flat
Fresno State will face No.7-seeded South Carolina in the first round of competition in Equitation on the Flat, slated for a 11:30 a.m. PT start time on Wednesday.

The winner of the event will move on to face Baylor in the quarterfinals.

Last time against the Gamecocks in the Flat
South Carolina took the Flat event, 3-2, on its trip to Fresno in November. The Bulldog points were earned by senior Alexandra Dirickson and freshman Cecily Hayes.

Bulldogs in the Flat
Fresno State has a 24-39-1 record in Equitation on the Flat this season, led by Dirickson with an 8-5 record and three MOP honors. Redshirt junior Brooke Nelson also follows close behind with six wins while Hayes has five.

Dirickson earned NCEA Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Month honors in March as well as earning a place on the All-Flat United Equestrian Conference Team.

Reining
Fresno State will face No.6-seeded Auburn in the first round of the Reining event on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. PT.

The winner of the event will move on to face Georgia.

Last time against the Tigers in Reining
Auburn defeated Fresno State, 3-1, in the Reining when it trekked to Fresno on Feb. 1, 2019.

The lone Bulldog point came from freshman Lexee Padrick in a 70.5-68.5 victory.

Bulldogs in the Reining
Fresno State is 23-33-7 this season in the Reining. The squad is led by junior Paige Barton with a 7-7 record and one MOP honor.

Padrick has chalked a 5-6-2 record with one MOP this season and was named the UEC Freshman Reining Rider of the Year for her efforts in the Reining.

Equitation Over Fences
The Bulldogs are set to face No.4-seeded South Carolina in the Fences on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. PT.

The winner will move on to face the winner of Texas A&M and UC Davis.

Last time against the Gamecocks in the Fences
South Carolina won the Fences event, 4-1, on its trip to Fresno in November. Sophomore Hailey Livingston won the only Bulldog point in the event with a 69-60 victory over her opponent.

Bulldogs in the Fences
Fresno State is 24-40 in the Fences event this season.

Dirickson also leads the Fences squad with a 7-7 record and one MOP and redshirt junior Erica Rosinski has posted a 5-6 mark with one MOP in her rides this season.
