Saunders to compete at CARIFTA 2019

FRESNO, Calif. – With the start of the 2019 CARIFTA Games this week, Fresno State's Latia Saunders will be in attendance as a member of the Bahamas. The freshman is slated to compete in the javelin which will start at 5 p.m. PT on Saturday at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

In 2017, Saunders helped Team Bahamas to a third-place showing in Curacao as she won the javelin at the under-17 level with a personal best mark of 45.29 meters. Moving up to the under-20 level a year later, Saunders placed fifth.
