Lee caps Bulldog career at Stanford Regional

STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Alex Lee's Fresno State career came to a close on Wednesday after competing in the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals for a second consecutive season. Lee was the first Bulldog since joining the Mountain West to earn back-to-back invitations to NCAA postseason play and back-to-back all-conference honors.

Lee closed three rounds in three days at the Stanford Regional, May 13-15, at Stanford Golf Course in 75th place. The senior shot his best round on the final day, firing a 4-over-par 74. He was 19-over for the tournament.

Postseason play will continue at the NCAA Championships, May 24-29, at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. for the top five teams and top individual from the six respective regional sites. Stanford (-23), Arizona State (-11), North Carolina (-11), Georgia Southern (-6) and LSU (+2) along with individual Kyler Dunkle (-6) of Utah advanced out of the Stanford Regional.

Lee's post-collegiate career will continue June 3 with the United States Open Sectionals in Newport Beach, Calif. at Big Canyon Country Club and Newport Beach Country Club. Lee carded a 5-under 67 on May 6 in local qualifying to continue on as one of 500 individuals that advanced to sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, Calif., June 13-16.
