Bailey Gong named to 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team landed a player on the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Team in junior Bailey Gong, CoSIDA announced on Thursday. Gong was selected a First-Team selection for District 8.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, All-American honorees will be announced in June.
The Exeter, Calif. native has earned a 3.99 cumulative GPA at Fresno State while majoring in mechanical engineering. Gong was one of only three Mountain West student-athletes to receive this distinguished award.
Gong is a two-time MW Scholar-Athlete award recipient. Gong recorded a 4-3 singles record and a 5-2 doubles record. He helped the Bulldogs win the first-ever 2019 Mountain West Championship in program history. Gong has competed in 10 dual matches during his career at Fresno State.
