FRESNO, Calif. – Tuesday evening's Fresno State baseball game against CSU Bakersfield has been canceled and will not be made up due to an unforeseen tragedy within the CSUB program.
Â
"Yesterday afternoon our assistant baseball coach Steve Farrington was involved in a very serious car accident," said CSU Bakersfield director of athletics Ziggy Siegfried. "Coach Farrington is a very special person in our baseball program and athletics department. He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers right now. I would like to thank the Fresno State Athletics Department including AD Terry Tumey and head coach Mike Batesole for their support during this time."
Â
"Our thoughts are with the CSU Bakersfield Athletics Department and the Farrington family during this difficult time," said director of athletics Terry Tumey. "I know that the Red Wave will join us in supporting this decision as we send our deepest sympathies to their community."
Â
Fresno State will resume its schedule with a three-game series against San Diego State, Friday-Sunday. It will be the Bulldogs' final home series of the season.
Ticket holders for Tuesday's game can exchange those at the box office for any of the upcoming weekend's games.
