2019 Women's Soccer Schedule unveiled, Fresno State to host nine matches
7/11/2019 12:27:00 PM | Women's Soccer
FRESNO, Calif. –  The Fresno State women's soccer team will host nine matches of its 18-game schedule during the 2019 season, to begin on Aug. 22, under 11th-year head coach Brian Zwaschka. The Bulldogs are set to host four non-conference opponents and five Mountain West games in the Fresno State Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
"Our 2019 schedule is a terrific challenge for us," said Zwaschka. "We decided to strengthen our preseason by competing in two exhibitions to get a great sense of our game capabilities. We start out non-conference play facing the PAC-12 and WCC to test the waters right out of the gate. Rounding out the non-conference slate will be difficult as ever facing teams from the WAC, the Big Sky, and the Big West. The main focus will be to prepare for Mountain West play, opening with another challenging split-travel weekend. At that point, the first target is qualification for post-season play by collecting points one game at a time. We are very excited about the match lineup and can't wait to get going."
Prior to the start of the 2019 season, the Bulldogs will play two exhibition matches, hosting Cal Poly on Aug. 11 and traveling to face Sacramento State on Aug. 16. The Bulldogs will officially kick off their campaign with three consecutive home matches, hosting Oregon on Aug. 22, Pacific on Sept. 1 and CSU Bakersfield on Sept. 8.
Fresno State will continue its non-conference schedule on the road facing Portland State (Sept. 13) (Boise, Idaho), Weber State (Sept. 15) and UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 20) before returning home to host the final non-conference game against UC Riverside (Sept. 22).
The 'Dogs will open Mountain West play at home, hosting Air Force (Sept. 27). Fresno State will then go on the road to face Colorado College (Sept. 29), before hosting back-to-back home matches against Utah State (Oct. 3) and Boise State (Oct. 6) followed by a pair of road games, facing Colorado State (Oct. 11) and Wyoming (Oct. 13). The 'Dogs will host Nevada (Oct. 17) and UNLV (Oct. 20) for their final home games before closing the regular season with three consecutive road games against San Diego State (Oct. 25), New Mexico (Oct. 27) and San Jose State (Nov. 1).
Parking and admission to all Fresno State women's soccer games are free of charge.
The 2019 Mountain West Tournament will be hosted by Boise State on Nov. 5-9.
