TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Fresno State senior tight end Jared Rice was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation on Thursday. The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the most outstanding FBS receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position, who catches a forward pass is eligible for the award.
Â
While the award sets out to not merely recognize college football's top wide receiver, 46 of the 50 named to the watch list on Thursday were wide receivers.
Â
Rice is among a select group of four tight ends named to the watch list – joined by Grant Calcaterra (Oklahoma), Albert Okwuegbunam (Missouri) and Jared Pinkney (Vanderbilt).
Â
A glance at Rice:
Last season, Johnson was named to the Biletnikoff award watch list; the best finish a Bulldog has seen for the Biletnikoff was Davante Adams being named one of 10 semifinalists in 2013.
