Bulldogs receive ITA All-Academic Team Award

Seven members earn scholar-athlete status.
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Fresno State women's tennis team earned its seventh consecutive All-Academic Team Award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Bulldogs' finished the 2018-19 academic year with a 3.82 cumulative team GPA.

The 'Dogs were one of 32 Division I women's programs to have at least seven student-athletes earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status. Being named scholar athletes were Shir Azran, Alessia Dario, Jane Ellis, A.C. Hummel, Georgia Lawson, Deniza Marcinkevica and Jennifer Timotin. Hummel, Lawson and Marcikevica each held a 4.0 GPA this past year.

In all, 940 teams across all five divisions of college tennis were honored.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
