Fresno State travels to face Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO – The Fresno State women's soccer team will travel to face Sacramento State in an exhibition match on Friday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. The match against the Hornets will be the Bulldogs' final preseason outing before officially opening the season against Oregon.

LAST TIME – Fresno State and Sacramento State tied 2-2 on Aug. 24, 2018 in Fresno, Calif. The last time the Bulldogs defeated the Hornets in Sacramento was on Sept. 13, 2015, pulling off a 1-0 victory.
THE 'DOGS
The match against the Hornets will be the Bulldogs' final preseason outing before officially opening the season against Oregon at home on Aug. 22.
LAST WEEK
Fresno State defeated Cal Poly 2-0 in an exhibition match on Aug. 11.
 Ele Avery opened scoring with a penalty shot in the 11th minute, to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Fresno State extended its lead 2-0 when freshman Alyssa Renovato found the back of the net off a free kick from Megan Amick, in the 79th minute.
QUICK LOOK AT THE ROSTER
Fresno State brings back All-Mountain West Second Team selection Ele Avery along with 15 additional returners. The Bulldogs added 10 newcomers, seven hailing from the Golden State, and one transfer in Mariona Segales (Pittsburgh).
Fresno State returns its leading scorer from the 2018 season in junior forward Emma Chivers.
ROSTER BREAKDOWN
The Bulldogs finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 6-10-4 (5-3-3 MW). Fresno State recorded its best conference record since 2013, advancing to the postseason tournament for the second consecutive season. The Bulldogs' season ended in the quarterfinals, falling to eventual champion San Jose State, 2-1.Â
