Chivers tabbed MW Offensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Forward Emma Chivers was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for games played Sept. 9 through Sept. 15. The junior led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week with two goals, including one game-winning goal.
This is Chivers' first career MW weekly accolade, and first for the Bulldogs this season. This is Fresno State's first weekly conference honor since Oct. 17, 2017 when Julia Glaser received the award.
Fresno State edged out Portland State 2-1 on Friday, Sept. 13. Chivers opened up scoring for the Bulldogs in the match, giving them a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute.Â
The Bulldogs shutout Weber State 2-0 on Sunday, Sept. 15, marking the first shutout of the season. Chivers scored the go-ahead goal for Fresno State in the 30th minute.
The San Jose, Calif. native finished the two matches with a combined five shots, including two on goal, along with two goals and four points.
After the weekend, Chivers leads Fresno State in scoring with three goals this season.
