Fresno State comes up short in Santa Barbara, 3-0

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Fresno State women's soccer team fell to UC Santa Barbara on the road 3-0 in Harder Stadium, on Friday night.
Fresno State falls to 3-2-1 (0-0-0), after suffering its first shutout of the season.
Tori Nicolo, Kasidee Wiley, Emma Chivers, Megan Amick, Melissa Ellis, Ele Avery, Robyn McCarthy, Lorena Montanes, Danielle Pacheco and Mariona Segales chalked the start for the Bulldogs, with Milena Zink in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UCSB opened scoring in the match when Lynsee Voss found the back of the net to give the Gauchos a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.
The Gauchos took a 1-0 lead into the half. UCSB owned the advantage in shots 5-2 and corner kicks 2-0. Zink recorded two saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
UCSB extended its lead to 2-0 when Shaelan Murison scored in the 52nd minute. The Gauchos quickly extended their lead with another goal in the 61st minute.
UCSB's defense was able to limit Fresno State to a season low two shots in the match.

Fresno State returns home to host UC Riverside on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 12 p.m. PT in the Fresno State Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
