Derkas tabbed MW Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Fresno State men's tennis player Zdenek Derkas was named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday. The Bulldog senior led the team this past weekend as they competed in the National Blue/Gray Classic. The weekly honor is the first of Derkas' career.
Derkas' weekend record was 1-1 in doubles and 2-1 in singles play with all wins coming at the No. 1 spot. The senior's biggest win of the weekend came in straight sets (7-5, 7-6) against No. 14 Ole Miss's Tim Sandkaulen who was ranked No. 55 in the country.
The 'Dogs are now set to host their first ever Pacific Central Valley Championship this weekend.
