Presno tabbed Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the second time in three weeks, junior catcher/infielder Zach Presno has earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Helping the 'Dogs to a perfect 5-0 week, the Clovis native hit .571 from the plate going 8-for-14 with a double, three home runs, eight RBIs and seven runs scored.
Slugging 1.286 on the week, Presno tallied 18 total bases finishing the week with three multi-hit games and a base knock in all five contests.
After collecting a pair of hits on Tuesday in a 13-0 win over Cal Poly, the junior followed it up on Friday with another pair of hits and two RBIs in a 9-1 win against Columbia.
Presno was just getting warmed up for a doubleheader on Saturday against the Lions where he went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in a 7-4 game one win and followed it up in game two with a three-run home run and a pair of runs scored.
His week concluded on Sunday with his sixth home run of the season, two runs scored and three walks in a 12-3 win over the Lions.
On the season, Presno is hitting .405 from the plate in 11 games to rank second in batting average in the Mountain West. He ranks sixth in the nation with six home runs while adding a league-leading 14 RBIs and is second in the MW with 13 runs scored.
His .973 slugging percentage leads the MW and ranks fifth nationally while his 36 total bases tops the the conference and is 10th in the country.
Presno & the Diamond 'Dogs host Seton Hall on Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium.
