Gong earns spot on Academic All-District Team

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State's Bailey Gong was announced Thursday as a selection to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team for District 8. It is Gong's second straight inclusion to the district team after earning the nod in 2019.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. As a First-Team Academic All-District, Gong, along with other honorees advance to the Academic All-America® ballot, All-American honorees will be announced June 16-19. The men's at-large team includes student-athletes from fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
The Exeter, Calif. native has earned a 4.00 cumulative GPA at Fresno State while majoring in mechanical engineering. Gong was one of six Mountain West student-athletes across three districts to receive the distinguished award.
Gong is a three-time MW Scholar-Athlete award recipient.
