Five Bulldogs named ITA Scholar-Athletes

TEMPE, Ariz. – With a 3.31 cumulative GPA, the Fresno State's men's tennis team earned All-Academic Team distinction from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Monday. Along with the team award, five Bulldogs were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The five 'Dogs to earn scholar-athlete status were Alexey Aleschev, Daniel Baturyn, Bailey Gong, Cagatay Soke and Henrique Osorio. It was the most scholar-athletes in a year for Fresno State under Head Coach Luke Shields. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year. Baturyn and Gong each earned a 4.0 GPA.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above.
