2020 NFL season to start with seven ‘Dogs on active 53-man rosters

FRESNO, Calif. – As the first week of the NFL season draws nearer (Sept. 10-14), and training camp has come to a close, all 32 teams were mandated to reduce its respective training camp rosters on Saturday to its chosen 53-man squads for the 2020 season. Entering week one, seven Fresno State football alumni are on active rosters, while four are on practice squads and one is designated as a 2020 opt-out (rosters as of Sept. 6).

Note: Practice squad rosters have expanded from 10 to 16 since last season.
The 2020 NFL season kicks off Thursday with the Houston Texans visiting the Kansas City Chiefs, while most of the action gets underway Sunday, Sept. 13 and is followed by a Monday Night Football doubleheader.

- 1. Tyeler Davison, DT – Atlanta Falcons
- 2. Mykal Walker, LB – Atlanta Falcons
- 3. KeeSean Johnson, WR – Arizona Cardinals
- 4. Charles Washington, S – Arizona Cardinals
- 5. Netane Muti, OL – Denver Broncos
- 6. Davante Adams, WR – Green Bay Packers
- 7. Derek Carr, QB – Las Vegas Raiders
The four on practice squads are:
- 1. Kenny Wiggins, OL – Detroit Lions
- 2. Juju Hughes, S – Los Angeles Rams
- 3. Curtis Riley, S – Pittsburgh Steelers
- 4. Josh Hokit, FB – San Francisco 49ers
Note: Practice squad rosters have expanded from 10 to 16 since last season.
10 of the 16 players on the practice squad can have no more than two accrued seasons.
New this year, teams can now keep up to six players with no limits on experience, a change to allow greater roster flexibility to aid with issues related to COVID-19.
