RB Jordan Mims has been selected as the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State senior running back Jordan Mims had a career-high game, leading the Fresno State offense to its 34-32 win over Nevada last Saturday at Bulldog Stadium. For his efforts, the Mountain West named him the conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Â
Mims finished the night with a career-high 23 carries for 134 yards and one touchdown in the run game. Mims led the team in rushing behind his second career 100-yard rushing performance. He added four receptions for 20 yards and an additional touchdown.
Â
The senior back recorded his first multi-score game since 2018.
Â
Mims stepped up as Ronnie Rivers suffered an early-game injury. It was nothing too big for the East Palo Alto, Calif. native as he showed just how diverse the Bulldog offense can be. Leading the 'Dogs in the run game for the second-straight game, Mims carried the Bulldogs to 205 team rushing yards, their most in a game since Nov. 7, 2020.
Â
Monday's announcement marks Mims' first career weekly honor from the conference. He is Fresno State's third MW Offensive Player of the Week of the season, following QB Jake Haener (Sept. 20) and WR Jalen Cropper (Sept. 27). Mims joins Rivers and Robbie Rouse (2012) as the only Bulldog running backs to earn the weekly honor from the Mountain West.
