FRESNO, Calif. -Â Fresno State's men's tennis team is set to host the Pacific Central Valley Championship tournament again this weekend. The Bulldogs won last year's eight-team tournament on its home courts. The much smaller three-team field in 2021 includes Fresno State, Nevada and Azusa Pacific competing in a round-robin format.
Fresno State enters the tournament holding a 2-2 record overall, coming off of two straight losses.Â
Due to current state guidelines, fans are not allowed to attend home matches at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center during the 2020-21 season.
The Field
Nevada - The Wolf Pack will enter the tournament with an 0-2 record overall. Both losses to Sacramento State and UC Davis had identical scores of 4-3.
Azusa Pacific - For the Cougars this tournament marks the beginning of their season. Their previous matches had been canceled, including one against the Bulldogs.Â
MATCHUP TIMES
The tournament begins Saturday morning with the first match between Fresno State and Nevada taking place at 9 a.m. PT. The noon match features Nevada taking on Azusa Pacific in the Cougars.
The final match, which is set to take place at 3 p.m. PT, sees Azusa Pacific taking on the host Bulldogs to close out tournament play.Â
