Ahmed earns second MW weekly honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State junior Dalia Ahmed was named the Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced on Thursday.

This is Ahmed's second career weekly conference award, with the previous honor coming back on March 3.

Ahmed, who is a perfect 6-0 at No. 1 singles during league competition this season, helped lead the Bulldogs to wins over Utah State and Boise State this past weekend.

Fresno State will finish MW play with matches against Air Force and New Mexico on Friday and Saturday, respectively, in Reno, Nevada.

Went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles, while leading Fresno State to wins over Utah State (4-0) and Boise State (4-3) and keeping the Bulldogs in contention for the MW regular season championship entering the final weekend of conference play.
Defeated Boise State's top singles player Joana Baptista (6-1, 6-1) to even the match.
With partner Deniza Marcinkevica, defeated both top double duos from Utah State (6-2) and Boise State (6-3)
Has played at No. 1 singles during every MW match for the Bulldogs and owns a perfect 6-0 record in those No. 1 singles contests.
