Fresno State will go on the road to face Mountain West foe UNLV in a crucial first place versus second place matchup. The Bulldogs and the Rebels will open the series with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. before finishing the series on Sunday with a single game at 12 p.m.

Freshman Keahilele Mattson has led the Bulldogs at the plate through MW play.
Mattson leads the team through 15 games in batting average (.429), runs (12), hits (18), doubles (5), triples (2), home runs (5), RBIs (19), slugging percentage (1.000) and on base percentage (.480).

Dolcini Earns Sixth MW Pitcher of the Week Award of 2021

Fresno State senior right-handed pitcher Hailey Dolcini was named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Week for the sixth time this season, announced by the league on Tuesday (April 26).
Fresno State chalked a 3-0 weekend, completing a series sweep over Nevada with three shutouts. The Bulldogs improved to 14-1 in conference play, and are in sole possession of first place in the MW standings.
Dolcini went 2-0 in the circle for Fresno State, recording two complete game shutouts. Through 14.0 innings of work, she recorded 23 strikeouts without allowing an extra-base hit or a walk. In game one, Dolcini logged 14 strikeouts to record her 11^th game with 10+ strikeouts. In game two, the senior logged nine strikeouts while logging her sixth straight shutout and 13^th straight victory.
This is Dolcini's sixth MW weekly award of the season and the 13th of her career.

Mountain West Favorite

The nine Mountain West softball head coaches chose Fresno State as the preseason favorite to win the 2021 regular season.
The vote was unanimous as the Bulldogs tallied all eight first place votes, as head coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team, to total 64 total points.
UNLV was picked to finish second (52 points, 1 first place vote) and San Diego State locked in third place (49 points) to round out the top three positions. Boise State (41 points) and San Jose State (38) were picked to finish in the middle of the conference standings, followed by Colorado State, Nevada, Utah State and New Mexico.
This marked the first time the Bulldogs have been selected to win the conference since 2017. The last time the Bulldogs won the Mountain West title was in 2016, after going 22-1 in conference play.
