Thibault wraps up round two of play in Arizona

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Fresno State senior Brigitte Thibault made her way through 18 more holes at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship, held at the Grayhawk Golf Club on Saturday. Through two rounds of the national championship, Thibault is tied for 74th with a 7-over-par 151.
Thibault, playing in the championship as an individual, finished the second round with a 4-over-par 76. After shooting a 75 (+3) on Friday, Thibault sits at a 7-over 151 with one round guaranteed to play on Sunday.
Under windy conditions in the desert, the senior Bulldog saw a tough start after shooting four-over on the opening hole. Thibault would bounce back and hold steady for the remaining front nine - carding six pars, one bogey and one birdie in the mix. The back nine was even shooting for Thibault, with her second birdie of the day coming on hole 15. So far in the tournament, Thibault has shot 27 holes at par and three birdies. Her number of holes at par are tied for the third-most by any golfer in the event this weekend.
Stanford surged on Saturday, and took the team lead with a 7-under 569 (291-278) through 36 holes. The Cardinal has the individual leader in Rachel Heck, who sits atop the leaderboard for the second-straight day. Heck is 8-under (69-67) in the tournament and holds a five stroke lead over the No. 2 golfers in the field.
Thibault has 18 holes remaining before the NCAA determines the top advancing teams and individuals. She is set to tee off on hole one at 12:25 p.m. PT tomorrow. Live scoring of Sunday's round is available at GolfStat.com.

Thibault is set for 54-holes of stroke play (Friday-Sunday) at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship. Following Sunday's round, the NCAA will determine the top 15 teams and 9 individuals not on an advancing team. Those selected teams and individuals will play one final round of stroke play on Monday, determining the individual champion and runner-up.
Advancing teams will continue to compete in match play, beginning with a quarterfinal round on Tuesday. The 2021 team National Champion will be crowned on Wednesday.
