The action starts with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a single game on Sunday at 12 p.m. Â Fresno State will celebrate its seven seniors in Aaliyah Cuevas-Inquiez, Kaitlyn Jennings, Schuylar Broussard, Miranda Rohleder, Hayleigh Galvan, Kelcey Carrasco and Julianna Martinez. Â
The Bulldogs (31-9, 15-3 MW) remain at the top of the Mountain West standings. The Rebels (25-12, 17-4 MW) are currently in second place and it will be a race to the finish with the conference title and the league's automatic bid are still well within reach for both teams. Fresno State has six conference games left, while UNLV has just three left. UNLV will face the third-place team in Nevada, while Fresno State will face the fourth and fifth place team in San Diego State and Boise State.Â

- The Bulldogs have their sights set on a Mountain West title and a 34th trip to the NCAA Regionals. Fresno State has played in the postseason four of the last five seasons. The 'Dogs have won 23 conference titles, 59 NCAA Regional games, and have made 12 trips to the Women's College World Series with one title win in 1998 and four runner-up finishes.

This year's Boise State team was picked to place fourth out of nine teams in the 2021 league race.
-  Hannah Bailey leads the pitching staff with a 2.07 ERA (MW 2nd)and 53 strikeouts (MW 9th). Sara Johnson has a 2.92 ERA (MW 7th) and a team-high 88 strikeouts (MW 5th). Freshman Taylor Caudill's ERA is 3.98 (MW 14th) with 73 strikeouts (MW 6th).
-  Ashlyn Adams is hitting a team-high .370 (MW 3rd) with a league-high 47 hits, 21 runs and 12 RBI. Bella Rocco is hitting .327 with 13 runs, 35 hits and 23 RBI.

- Fresno State leads the MW in wins, ERA, batting average, opposing batting average, hits, slugging percentage, runs scored, runs batted in, on base percentage, doubles, triples, batters struck out, total bases, total plate appearances, walks, hit by pitch and sacrifice flies.
- Hailey Dolcini leads the conference in ERA (1.10), opposing batting average (.171), batters struck out (201), batters struck out looking (55) and wins (17).
- Kaitlyn Jennings leads the MW in on base percentage (.484), runs scored (45), triples (5), hit by pitch (16), stolen bases (28), total plate appearances (137) and steal attempts (30). Jennings ranks No. 2 in batting average (.360).
- Keahilele Mattson leads the MW in slugging percentage (1.000), runs batted in (33), total bases (71) and ranks No. 2 in home runs (9).
- Vanessa Hernandez leads the conference in walks (21).

Mountain West Favorite
- The nine Mountain West softball head coaches chose Fresno State as the preseason favorite to win the 2021 regular season.
- The vote was unanimous as the Bulldogs tallied all eight first place votes, as head coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team, to total 64 total points.
- UNLV was picked to finish second (52 points, 1 first place vote) and San Diego State locked in third place (49 points) to round out the top three positions. Boise State (41 points) and San Jose State (38) were picked to finish in the middle of the conference standings, followed by Colorado State, Nevada, Utah State and New Mexico.
- This marked the first time the Bulldogs have been selected to win the conference since 2017. The last time the Bulldogs won the Mountain West title was in 2016, after going 22-1 in conference play.
