Andrews, Jr. taken by Rockies on final day of 2021 MLB Draft

FRESNO, Calif. - Junior outfielder EJ Andrews, Jr. was selected in the 13th round by the Colorado Rockies on day three of the 2021 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday.
Taken with the 380th overall selection, Andrews, Jr. put together a strong junior season for the Diamond 'Dogs this season earning All-Mountain West second team honors hitting .325 from the plate smacking nine home runs to tie for ninth in the conference and led the league with 32 walks.
The Long Beach native totaled 54 hits, scored 38 runs, drove in 29 RBI and collected 16 multi-hit contests while making 42 starts in center field.
Andrews, Jr. saw action in 14 games in the 'Dogs COVID-19 shortened season in 2020 and appeared in 39 games in 2019 as a freshman helping the Bulldogs earn both the MW regular season and tournament championships.
The three-year Bulldog has totaled 96 career games at Fresno State accounting for 79 hits, 10 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, 34 RBI and 55 runs scored while hitting .287 from the plate.
