Manganello named MW Men's Golfer of the Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Coming off the first collegiate tournament win of his career, Fresno State's Matthew Manganello was named Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Month on Friday morning. It is the first monthly honor of his career.
The junior from Las Vegas claimed his first collegiate title by carding a 7-under par 206 this week at the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Club. After dropping a stroke late on No. 16, Manganello recovered with an eagle at No. 18 to win by one stroke. His win was the 31st individual tournament win for the program during the last 25 years, and first since Matthew Sutherland on April 12, 2021 (El Macero Classic).
The win in Pebble Beach was the Bulldog's second Top 5 finish during the last month, the first two of his career, after tying for fifth at the Visit Stockton Invitational two weeks earlier. During that tournament, Manganello posted a career-low 8-under par 205.
The junior also twice shot a career-low round of 66 which both came in the first round of each tournament.
