Thurston earns win at WSU Open

SPOKANE, Wash. – Senior Tahj'nee Thurston led the Fresno State track & field team on Friday at The Podium. Competing twice during the day, Thurston not only won the weight throw during the WSU Open early in the day but also picked up a fourth-place result in the WSU Invitational during the evening.
Thurston's winning throw during the Open was a personal best mark of 18.03m.
Also, in the Open throws, the 'Dogs finished 3-4 in the shot put. Cierra Jackson finished third with a toss of 14.26m while Amelia DiPaola recorded a mark of 14.06m.
In the long jump, Rachela Pace earned her top finish of the year, placing second. The freshman had a season-best jump of 5.61m.
The WSU Invitational will conclude on Saturday.
