'Dogs wrap up second trip to Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Fresno State women's track and field team wrapped up its second weekend at The Podium on Saturday with the final day of the WSU Invitational. Ceonna Pipion capped off the week with a second-place finish in the 400 meters with an indoor personal best time of 56.44.
She was the top collegian in the race as first place went to Swiss sprinter and 2019 DIII national champion Sarah King. Pipion also finished seventh in the 200 meters at 24.88. The sophomore's day was not done there she and her teammates, Nakyia Buckner, De'ja Hudson and Brianna Sproles took fifth in the 4x400 relay (3:50.70).
In the shot put, Cierra Jackson earned a fourth-place finish with a toss of 15.05m. Two spots behind her was Amelia DiPaola at 13.96m.
Madison Hutton capped off a strong week in Washington with a fifth-place result in the long jump. The freshman finished a top mark of 5.78m.

Fresno State returns to competition next weekend with the team splitting up between the Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington and the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
