Haley Cavinder earns third All-MW nod

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State junior Haley Cavinder was selected to her third straight All-Mountain West Team when the conference office announced the 2022 team on Sunday morning.
The Bulldog point guard paced the league in scoring (20.8 ppg), rebounding (9.9 rpg) and was second in assists (5.8 apg). She became just the third player in Mountain West history, and first since 2006, to lead the MW in in scoring and rebounding during a conference season, joining UNLV's Linda Frolich who did it three times and Utah's Kim Smith who did it once. While Frolich and Smith stand at 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-1, respectively, Cavinder performed the feat at 5-foot-6.
Cavinder also owns the most 20-point games in conference play with 10 in 17 games along with a league-high eight double-doubles. She was also the only player in the MW to record a triple-double this season, recording two in conference play as well as one in the nonconference.
Overall, the Gilbert, Ariz. native is the only player in the country to rank in the Top 50 in scoring, rebounding and assists. She currently leads the country in free throw shooting at 97.2 percent (106-of-109).
