Fresno State's Jake Bettencourt was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State's Jake Bettencourt has been named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Bettencourt, who prepped at Buchanan High School in Clovis, finished 43rd as an individual in the 84-player field competing in the 2022 El Macero Classic last week.

Bettencourt's final round 70 was one of 10 closing rounds of 70 or lower in the event.

The Bulldogs won the 2022 El Macero Classic team tournament championship and next head to play in the 2022 MW Championships in Washington later this week.
