COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three Diamond 'Dogs earned All-Mountain West honors, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. Zach Morgan, Ixan Henderson and Ivan Luna each earned their first career All-MW honor and all selections were voted upon by the league coaches based off conference-only statistics.
A junior catcher from Stockton, Morgan started all 30 MW games behind the plate while hitting .364 and led the team in runs (30), home runs (8), total bases (79) and slugging percentage (.653) in MW contests.
Behind the dish, the Buster Posey National Catcher of the Year semifinalist posted a .989 fielding percentage while his 232 putouts ranked third in the MW.
Making 10 starts on the mound in MW contests, Henderson was one of four pitchers tabbed to the first team after posting a 5-3 record with a 5.34 ERA. A sophomore southpaw from Fresno, Henderson's five wins tied for third in the conference and his ERA checked in seventh in the MW.
In 59.0 innings of work, second-most among MW pitchers behind only MW Co-Pitcher of the Year Paul Skenes of Air Force, Henderson led the MW with 68 strikeouts and held opponents to a .258 average from the plate, fourth-best in the conference.
Rounding out the All-MW selections for the Bulldogs, Luna earned second-team honors after starting all 30 MW games for the 'Dogs with 22 starts coming at first base and eight in the outfield.
The Oceanside native hit .360 from the dish and led the team with 45 hits, 12 doubles and 26 RBIs and ended with a hit in each of the 'Dogs final 16 MW contests and collected a base knock in 26 MW games overall.
The Bulldogs, who closed out the season 27-28 and tied for fourth in the Mountain West, have now earned 43 All-Mountain West selections over their 10 seasons in the MW with 25 first team honorees and 18 second team honorees.
