Two 'Dogs earn ACWPC All-America honors

FRESNO, Calif. - Two Bulldogs have earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Division I All-America Team honors. Emily Nicholson was named to second team while Fanni Muzsnay was tabbed an honorable mention selection.
Tabbed an All-America for the fourth time as a Bulldog, Nicholson played in all 27 games this spring finishing the season tied for second on the team with 40 goals on 69 shots. She added eight assists to total 48 points and set a new program record with 105 drawn exclusions.
Helping Fresno State claim both the Golden Coast Conference regular season and tournament titles, the New Zealand native had 10 games with multiple goals and scored a hat trick in six games on her way to being named the GCC Player of the Year as well as being named the Bob Duncan Bulldog of the Year.
A freshman from Hungary, Muzsnay played in 25 games this season and set a program single-season record with 72 goals, 89 points and 159 shots. She earned GCC Newcomer of the Year honors as well as being named a GCC First Team selection and a GCC All-Freshman Team honoree.
Scoring multiple goals in 22 games, Muzsnay had 12 games with hat tricks and scored a pair of goals in the NCAA Tournament against USC to earn NCAA Tournament Second Team honors.
Fresno State finished the season with an overall record of 19-8 (7-0 GCC). The Bulldogs won the GCC regular season championship and topped California Baptist, San Diego State and Loyola Marymount in the GCC Tournament to claim their second straight tournament title. The Bulldogs collected two first team, one second team, one honorable mention and two freshman team All-GCC selections.
Fresno State led the GCC with eight total conference honors for the 2022 season and finished the season with a program-best 19 wins after reaching the NCAA quarterfinals for the second consecutive season.
