Former 'Dogs open NFL Training camps

FRESNO, Calif. -Â NFL Training camps opened up around the league this week with 13 former Bulldogs in action.
Davante Adams, WR, Las Vegas Raiders
Making the move to the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, Adams reunites with his former Bulldog teammate and quarterback Derek Carr after spending his first eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
Ranking in the top five in the NFL in receptions (123), receiving yards (1,553) and touchdowns (11), Adams earned his fifth Pro Bowl selection and second straight All-Pro honor last season.
With training camp starting last Wednesday, the Raiders get the preseason underway next Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.

Kevin Atkins, DL, San Francisco 49ers
Atkins signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent after the NFL Draft.
Completing his six-year Bulldog career last fall, Atkins played in 59 career games racking up 142 tackles and earned three career All-Mountain West honorable mention honors.
The 49ers open the preseason at home against Green Bay on Aug. 12 and the regular season opens at the Chicago Bears on Sept. 11.

DaRon Bland, DB, Dallas Cowboys
After being selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Bland was the Bulldogs' lone draft selection.
Spending a year with the 'Dogs as a graduate transfer in 2021, Bland totaled 45 tackles (34 solo), fifth on the team, second among all defensive backs and had at least one tackle in every game on the season.
The Cowboys opened camp on Tuesday and travel to Denver for their preseason opener on Aug. 13. Dallas hosts Tampa Bay on Sunday Night Football on Sept. 11 for its regular season opener.

Coming off a stellar season in 2021, Carr threw for 4,804 yards, fifth-most in the NFL, and 23 touchdowns a season ago.
Helping the Raiders make the playoffs for the first time since 2016, Carr helped lead Las Vegas to 10 wins before falling to the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs.

Juju Hughes, S, Detroit Lions
Spending the majority of last season with the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams before he was release prior to the end of the year, Hughes caught on with the Detroit Lions.
Entering his third year after being an undrafted free agent in 2020, Hughes totaled eight tackles (five solo) while playing in 19 games for the Rams.
The Lions open the preseason at home against Atlanta on Aug. 12 and the regular season get started hosting the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 11.

Joining Atkins as an undrafted free agent after the NFL Draft, Mosby signed with the Carolina Panthers.
A five-year Bulldog who played in 58 career games, Mosby earned All-MW honorable mention honors last season and accumulated 156 total career tackles.
The Panthers opened training camp on Tuesday at Wofford College and open the preseason at the Washington Commanders on Aug. 13. The regular season starts at home against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 11.

The program career leader in touchdowns (52), rushing touchdowns (40) and receiving yards by a running back (1,417), Rivers will compete for a spot in Arizona's backfield.
The Cardinals open the preseason at the Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 12 and the regular season at home versus the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 11.

Playing in all 17 games last season, Walker tallied 35 tackles (17 solo), defended four passes and added an interception.
The Falcons open the preseason at the Detroit Lions on Aug. 12 and host the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 11 in the regular season opener.

The Cardinals open the preseason at the Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 12 and the regular season at home versus the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 11.

Playing in 28 career games, Wheatfall totaled 78 career receptions for 1,286 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
The Eagles open the preseason against the New York Jets on Aug. 12 and the regular season at the Detroit Lions on Sept. 11.
