Split week for 'Dogs

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State is set for its first and only home/away split of the season this week when the Bulldogs travel down to Long Beach for a midweek match before returning to Fresno on Sunday to host Pacific.
THE BREAKDOWN
- Fresno State is winless through its first three games for the first time since 2016. That season, the 'Dogs won their next five matches and finished with 10 on the year.
- With depth expected on this year's squad during the preseason, six of the Bulldogs' eight newcomers have earned starts.
- The Bulldogs return 18 players from their 2021 team which includes 10 of their 11 starters.
- While the majority of the production returned, three of the squad's seven freshmen earned starts during the opening week.
- 96.6 percent of the Bulldogs' scoring returned from a season ago (28 of 29 goals).
- Head Coach Brian Zwaschka is seeking his 100th career victory as he currently sits on 99.

- 12 of the 13 Bulldogs who played at least 700 minutes in 2021 are back in 2022.
- All but one goal scored during the 2021 season came from a Bulldog currently on the roster (28 of 29).
- Of the 1807 minutes that the 'Dogs played, goalkeepers on the current squad accounted for 1,743 in goal.
Fresno State's first goal of the 2022 season came none other than the team's active leader in career goals, Kassandra Ceja. With 12 goals in 31 games, the junior scored the 13th of her career in her 32nd match.
- 10 of Ceja's 13 career goals have come at the Fresno State Soccer Stadium.
Seeing time in the Bulldogs' first two games, local product Ciara Wilson has started to find her place in the team's rotation. The 2022 TRAC Player of the Year saw her first career start come in front of her home crowd on Aug. 25.
- In the 58th minute, Wilson also set up Fresno State's first goal of the season with an assist to Kassandra Ceja.
SCOUTING LONG BEACH STATE
- Long Beach State currently sits at 0-2-2 after back-to-back 0-1-1 weeks.
- Like Fresno State, LBSU has two losses to Pac-12 opponents (USC, Washington). The Beach's two draws came to future Bulldog opponents (Pacific, San Diego State).
- Four different players have scored for Long Beach State with Lena Silano leading the team with two.
- LBSU's two keepers have allowed 10 goals and have total 18 saves.
- Fresno State is 1-5-0 all-time against Long Beach State.
- The Bulldogs have scored three goals in six matches.
- Fresno State has only defeated LBSU when scoring two goals (2-0 on Sept. 26, 1999 in Long Beach).
SCOUTING PACIFIC
- Pacific is undefeated through four matches, holding a 2-0-2 record. The two draws came against Fresno State opponents (Long Beach State, Oregon State).
- Seven different Tigers have scored. Jenae Packard leads the team with six points (2G, 2A).
- Brenna Crump has played all 360 minutes in goal, allowing a 1.25 GAA, making 22 saves and holding an .815 save percentage.
- Fresno State is 6-10-2 all-time against Pacific, a series that dates back to the Bulldogs' first season.
- Three of Fresno State's six wins have come in the last four meetings.
- Four of the Bulldogs' wins have come in Fresno (4-4-1).
