'Dogs drop 3-1 match to Falcons

FRESNO, Calif. – Scoring its quickest goal of the season, the Fresno State soccer team was unable to hold a slim lead at the half on Sunday against Air Force at Bulldog Soccer Stadium. The Falcons scored three second-half goals to flip the game.

How It Happened
Before either team could settle into the match, Fresno State struck. Just inside a minute in, Jordan Lau lofted a ball from the Bulldogs' half that took a hop outside the Falcons' 18-yard box. Beating her defender to the ball over the top, Kassandra Ceja managed to calmly slot a shot past Sydney Davis to give the 'Dogs a 1-0 advantage 66 seconds into the contest. Fresno State continued to put Air Force under pressure throughout the first half hour but an insurance goal never came.

Air Force turned the match around early in the second half with physical play and counter attacking. Outshooting the Bulldogs 8-4 in the second half, the Falcons scored on three of their five shots that were on frame.
