COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the 2023 Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference team on Wednesday, which is composed of the top three finishers in each individual event and top three relay teams in each event at the MW Outdoor Championships. Fresno State's Jocelynn Budwig (hammer), Madison Hutton (heptathlon) and Cierra Jackson (discus) earned honors after the championship meet.
Seeded third in the hammer entering the meet, Budwig landed a personal best mark of 59.55m/195-4 on her third attempt of the event. The mark stood through the finals. She became the third different Bulldog to win the event in the last three years.
Following up on her bronze in the pentathlon at indoors, Hutton earned her second of the year taking third in the heptathlon with a personal best 5,387 points that moved her up to third all-time at Fresno State. Hutton's new total was aided by lifetime bests in the first four events of the competition.
Like Hutton, Jackson claimed her second bronze of the year as well. Earning the other in the shot put at indoors, the sophomore placed third in the discus this past weekend with a throw of 55.35m/181-7 on her fourth attempt.
