NFL Preseason Week 2 preview

FRESNO, Calif. - Week two of the National Football League preseason game action begins Friday for former Bulldogs across the league. 16 former Fresno State football players are scattered across the NFL with five in their rookie seasons.

In week one, the former Bulldogs stood out in many ways. As the Buffalo Bills faced the Indianapolis Colts last week, Bulldogs KeeSean Johnson (WR) and Jordan Mims (RB) led the team in their respective offensive stat categories. Johnson totaled three receptions on three targets for 42 yards. Mims led the Bills in rushing with seven carries for 23 yards. Mims also added two receptions for 30 yards.

With the New Orleans Saints, former quarterbacks Derek Carr and Jake Haener both had the chance to showcase their skills. Carr got his first start in New Orleans, going 6-of-8 for 70 yards and a touchdown. Haener played a majority of the second half in his professional debut, throwing 105 yards and completing 10-of-17 pass attempts with one touchdown and one interception.

Going against the Saints, wide receiver Nikko Remigio led the Kansas City Chiefs with four receptions for 71 yards. He also added one kickoff return for 21 yards and two punt returns for seven returns.

Mykal Walker was released from the Atlanta Falcons after three years with the franchise. He was picked up by the Chicago Bears.
