'Dogs finish day one in Washington

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — The Fresno State women's golf team finished day one of the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay, finishing the 36-hole day with a team score of 20-over par 596. The Bulldogs sit 10th in the 19-team field.Â
Katelyn Lehigh and Sophia Yi-Ju Chen led the way Fresno State, both carding a 4-over 148. They are tied for 27th in the 108-woman field.Â
Lehigh started strong with a 1-under 71 through the first round, recording two eagles and three bogeys. She shot her highest score of the year in the second round finishing with a 5-over 77.Â
Chen was consistent through the day, carding a 2-over 74 in both rounds. The freshman had four birdies on the day.Â
