'Dogs earn first spring win in Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- Fresno State women's tennis team earns their first win of the spring season at Santa Clara, 5-2.Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Bulldogs got a strong start after doubles pairs clinched the first point. Doubles pair Charlotte Gisclon and Hannah Pieper faced tough opponents playing to a tiebreaker match, 7-6 (7-2). Dunbar and Piferi saw a smoother win against the Broncos, 6-4.Â
Fresno State's Misaki Kobayashi earned the Bulldogs first singles point, followed by Eliza Dunbar to give the 'Dogs a two-point lead. All eyes were on courts 3 & 4 for the  final points. Piferi and Vyshkina were the only singles courts to play to a third set. Vyshkina earned the Bulldogs fifth point of the match with a 6-4 win in the final set.Â
UP NEXT: 'Dogs see a short break before they are back up north to face Sacramento State on Saturday, Feb. 3rd at 11 a.m. PT and University of San Francisco on Sunday, Feb. 4th at 1 p.m. PT.Â
