TUCSON, Ariz. - Fresno State defeated Miami (Ohio) 18-3 in the 2025 Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl, Presented by Ginn & Juice by Dre & Snoop. With the win, Matt Entz became the second Bulldog head coach to win a bowl game in their first season in program history. The Bulldogs cap the 2025 season with a 9-4 overall record.

Quarterback E.J. Warner was named the bowl game MVP, finishing with 219 yards while completing 15-of-22 pass attempts with one touchdown and no turnovers.

The Bulldog defense held Miami to just 192 yards of total offense, and forced two turnovers with an interception and a fumble recovery from Jakari Embry.

Josiah Freeman led the offense with 143 yards on seven catches, his first career 100-yard receiving game.

How it happened
Miami got on the board first with a 33-yard field goal on its first possession. While the Bulldog offense was off to a slow start, the defense came up with its first turnover of the afternoon as Jakari Embry picked off the deep pass by Thomas Gotkowski. The Bulldogs didn't score after the turnover, and trailed 3-0 at the end of the first.

Fresno State started the second quarter with a scoring drive as E.J. Warner found Richie Anderson III on a 25-yard gain to get to mid-field. The Bulldogs had five consecutive runs for gain before an 11-yard completion to Josiah Freeman got the 'Dogs into the red zone. The Bulldogs settled for a 28-yard field goal from Dylan Lynch to tie the game early in the second.

The Bulldog defense forced a three-and-out on the next drive after a near interception by Camryn Bracha. With the punt team out, the RedHawks had a rogue snap to the punter that made its way to the back of the endzone. After chasing down the ball, Miami punter Pierse Stainton went for his punt attempt from the end zone and Ethan Tierney blocked the attempt. Johnathan Arceneaux recovered the ball at the Miami 10-yard line. Fresno State couldn't find the end zone but added points with a 23-yard field goal by Lynch to take a 6-3 lead into the locker room.

On its first drive of the second half, the Bulldog offense saw a big play as Warner hit Freeman for a 51-yard gain. The drive went stagnant in the red zone again, but this time Lynch saw his kick sail wide left for his first miss of the afternoon.

Entering the fourth quarter at mid-field, Warner connected with Harold Duvall for a 17-yard gain. The Bulldogs found their way to the red zone for the fifth time in the afternoon, but this time scored six points on a two-yard pass from Warner to Anderson III. The Bulldogs went for the two-point conversion, but were denied. With the score, Fresno State led 15-3 with 11:12 remaining in the game.

With Miami gaining some momentum on offense, and getting into Bulldog territory, the 'Dogs got them into a fourth down situation. Opting to go for it, Jahzon Jacks came up with the sack to force a turnover on downs.

Looking to run the clock, the Bulldogs pieced together another successful scoring drive with nine-straight rush attempts. Lynch closed it off with a 37-yard field goal to extend the lead to 18-3 with just under three minutes to go.
