Tarczy captures first win of season at Husky Classic

SEATTLE, Wash. – Liz Tarczy picked up Fresno State's lone win of the opening day at the Husky Classic.
Tarczy won the high jump at a height of 1.75m/5-8.75. The sophomore cleared the bar on her first attempt while it took Azusa Pacific's Eliana Saunders all three attempts. Neither athlete was able to clear the final height of 1.78m/5-10. It was the Bulldog's first win of the season after finishing twice in three straight meets.
Colleen Uzoekwe finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at a time of 8.61. The senior advanced to the finals though with a time of 8.54 which narrowly bested her season best of 8.55.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Zoe Yeast put together her best series of the year on Friday at the Don Kirby Invitational as she landed four marks above her season long in the weight throw. The senior finished third overall in the event.
On Yeast's final throw, the senior jumped from No. 7 to No. 3 on the program's all-time list with a personal best of 19.89m/65-3.25
In the 400 meters, Itzia Mejia Garcia placed fourth, clocking a time of 54.86. It was the sophomore's first time running the event this season.
