FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team heads south to San Luis Obispbo for a set of weekend matches. Bulldogs will face off against Washington State for a neutral match at 10 a.m. PT and take on the hosts, Cal Poly on Sunday at 3 p.m. PT. All matches will be held at Ronca Tennis Center and neutral matches will not have live stats.Â

SERIES HISTORYÂ
Fresno State will meet Cal Poly for the 14th time in program history and for the fifth time in San Luis Obispo. Bulldogs lead the all-time meetings at 10-3 and are 2-2 in San Luis Obispo. Bulldogs have dropped the last two meetings at Ronca Tennis Center. Fresno State's last win came in Fresno on Feb. 24, 4-3.Â
Fresno State will meet Washington State for the 18th time in program history. Bulldogs lead the all-time meetings, 13-6, but the Cougars have bounced back and won the last five meetings. Fresno State's last win against WSU was Feb. (2016) in Fresno, 4-3.Â
ÂHOLDING STRONGÂ
Sofia Pizzoni leads the Bulldogs with the most wins holding a 4-0 record. Pizonni played an impressive match at No. 2 against Sacramento State for a third set win that gave the Bulldogs a chance for a comeback. Pizzoni has earned a singles win at the top flight and her last three have come at the number three flight.Â
Coming back into a new season, Yinglak Jittakoat has started her singles journey at the third slot in the singles lineup. The junior holds a 2-0 record this season with both being two set wins. Jittakoat joined Pizzoni as the only two players to grab a singles point against Sacramento State.Â
ÂA LOOK AT THE MUSTANGSÂ
- Mustangs are looking to build off one of their most successful seasons in program history under third-year head coach Ellie Edles Williams.
- Cal Poly holds a 2-1 record with a loss to Arizona and most recently a win against Montana State (6-1)
- Mustangs opened the season with a win over NAUÂ
- Cal Poly won the 2024 Big West Tournament after finishing as runner up the past three seasons (2021-23), Mustang defeated Cal State Fullerton, 4-3Â
