COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State seniors Jadon Pearson and Dylan Lynch have been named Old Trapper Mountain West Players of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday morning. Pearson picks up his first career Defensive Player of the Week honor, while Lynch earns the second Special Teams Player of the Week honor of his career.
Â
The duo helped Fresno State defeat Oregon State for the first time since 2003, and secure their first win in Corvallis since 1991.
Â
Pearson led Fresno State with a career-high 16 tackles at Oregon State on Saturday. He also added in one pass breakup in the win. The senior from Arizona recorded his second double-digit tackle performance of the year, and has been Fresno State's leading tackler in all three games this year.
Â
Lynch scored 12 points by foot in Saturday's win, going 3-for-3 in his field goal attempts including a 43-yarder to put Fresno State bac on top with 29 seconds left in the game. He was also 3-of-3 in his PAT attempts in a game that proved special teams is a contributing factor.
Â
The Bulldog duo picked up Fresno State's first weekly honors by the conference this season.
Â
Fresno State returns home to host Southern University this Saturday at Valley Children's Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and tickets are available here.
