FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State swim team travels up north to visit the San Jose State Spartans for their second conference dual meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. PT.Â
Bulldog Bones
Mackenzie Miller Lung was tabbed Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Jan. 26. The Clovis, Calif. native grabbed her third this season and tied for the most 'of the week' awards in a single season (Manuela Mendolicchio, 3). The senior breaststroker earned her honor after winning two individual events (100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke) and was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team. Her winning time in the 100-yard breaststroke was an NCAA qualifying time of 58.72 and is the second fastest time in the Mountain West this season. Her second event win in the 200-yard breaststroke with an NCAA qualifying time of 2:09.17, which is the third fastest time in the MW this season. Miller Lung produced a time of 26.35 split in the breaststroke in the 200-yard medley relay to help her team grab the event win.
MW Freshman of the WeekÂ
Hayley Oke earned her first MW weekly honor this past Monday. The Muskoka, Ontario native also earned two wins on the weekend in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly. Her time in the 100-yard backstroke was a career-best 54.27, ranks as the 10th fastest time in the Mountain West this season and is the fastest time recorded by a freshman this season. Oke also claimed an event win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.88. Oke is the first freshman since the 2022-23 season to grab the honor and the third overall freshman in program history to be tabbed.Â
