Sotomayor named Preseason All-MW

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State Baseball's Griffen Sotomayor has been selected to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team, the conference announced Wednesday.
In addition, the Bulldogs were selected to finish second in the conference with three first-place votes and 55 points, as voted by the league's head coaches.
In 2025, Sotomayor owned a .330 batting average in 52 starts for Fresno State as the primary DH. He totaled 68 hits with 16 doubles, one triple and seven home runs while driving in 41 runs and scoring 44 runs of his own. In his first season as a Bulldog, Sotomayor recorded 19 multi-hit games.
Sotomayor also posted a .984 fielding percentage with 116 putouts and six assists as the Bulldogs' backup first baseman.
Fresno State received 55 points and three first-place votes in the Preseason Coaches' Poll and was selected to finish second behind Nevada.
The Bulldogs begin the 2026 campaign on February 13 at home against Utah at 6:05 p.m. PT.
