Bulldogs steamroll past Wolf Pack to sweep season series meetings
2/7/2026 7:06:00 PM | Women's Basketball
For the seventh time this season Emilia Long hit the basket just right to finish with 23 points, going 9-of-15 from the field. Three other Bulldogs followed in suit to produce double-digits with Jaisa Gamble on 15 points, Danae Powell scoring 14 points and Morelia Chavez rounded out the crew with 10 points.Â
How it happenedÂ
The Bulldogs seized momentum early despite Nevada briefly striking first from beyond the arc, Jaisa Gamble sparked Fresno with back-to-back steals that led to an igniting 15-0 run.  Powell knocked down a three midway through the quarter, and Emilia Long capped the stretch with a fastbreak finish to push Fresno ahead 20-7 after one.Â
Nevada attempted to claw back but Fresno State responded strongly after Morelia Chavez dropped eight points in the period. Chavez buried a corner three, and Long converted consecutive finishes in the paint to stop any momentum from the Wolf Pack. A late Chavez layup off a Long assist, preserved Fresno's double-digit edge heading into halftime, 34-21.
Long scored on two straight possessions, and Gamble followed with an easy bucket. Moments later, Chavez setup Powell to finish inside, extending the lead and forcing Nevada into hurried possessions. Fresno ended the quarter ahead 53-41.
Gamble opened the quarter with a pull-up jumper in the lane, then converted at the free-throw line after drawing contact on the next possession to push the lead past 15. Long delivered back-to-back scores to stretch the margin to 20. Bulldogs' controlled the tempo the rest of the way, knocking down shots as they closed out the 71-51 win.
