'Dogs open spring football on Friday

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State football team opens up spring football with the first of 14 practices on Friday, entering year two under head coach Matt Entz and preparing for the Bulldogs' first season in the Pac-12. The Bulldogs' spring season will conclude with the Spring Preview, a part of the larger Bulldog Block Party, on Saturday, April 25. More information on the Bulldog Block Party will be announced soon.

- Fresno State enters its second season under head coach Matt Entz.
- The Bulldogs retained a majority of their staff from the 2025 season, losing only one coach but saw the role filled internally.
- Fresno State has 101 players on its spring roster
- Fresno State returns 14 starters, including punter Nick Verdugo.
- Fresno State has 28 mid-year additions who will be with the team for spring football, including 18 transfers and 10 high schoolers.
- In total, the Bulldogs added 43 student-athletes in the signing class (25 high schoolers, 18 transfers).
- The Bulldogs lost just three players to the transfer portal that played 150+ offensive or defensive snaps in 2025. Fresno State is one of 12 FBS programs with three or fewer portal losses of players with that impact.
