Throwers open at Kim Duyst Invitational

TURLOCK, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team wrapped up day one of the Kim Duyst Invitational, hosted by Stanislaus State this weekend.
The Bulldog throwers were in action on Friday as Zoe Yeast made her outdoor debut as a Bulldog. The senior won the hammer throw with a mark of 56.27m/184-7. Her winning throw was four meters further than the second place athlete.
Tearra Haney took third in the hammer throw on Friday. The senior had a toss of 48.16m/158-0 on her fourth attempt. Haney also competed in the discus, placing second with a throw of 43.37m/142-3 on her third attempt.
For the men, Jamarcus Phillips took second in the discus with a toss of 48.63m/159-6 on his fourth attempt. The junior bettered his season-best mark.
