HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Fresno State 9, Saint Mary's 3

With runners on second and third following a wild pitch, Emma Martinez took advantage and sent a base hit up the middle that plated both runners, making it a 5-0 lead for Fresno State in the fourth inning.

The Gaels responded in the third, getting two runs on a RBI triple combined with a throwing error as Saint Mary's led 2-1.
Fresno State answered back in the bottom half of the third. Jamie Hicks stepped to plate and sent a line-drive base hit to center field that brought across a run to even the game, 2-2.
