‘Dogs set to host Long Beach State, hit the road for UC Santa Barbara

FRESNO, Calif. - With the first week of non-conference play in the books, the Fresno State women's soccer team will return home this Thursday to host Long Beach State at Bulldog Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. PT.
The Bulldogs will make the trip south to Santa Barbara on Sunday for an afternoon match against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos with kickoff set for 1 p.m. PT.

- Fresno State welcomed 12 transfers to their program in Jessie Reiss (Oral Roberts), Brooke Bowman (Prairie View A&M), Selah Simms (Oregon), Alexis Dueker (San Jose State), Daisy Torres (San Jose State), Maggie Koerwitz (USF), Ava Kelly (CSU Stanislaus), Scarlette Druian (UNLV), Jordan Sprague (LMU), Kyleigh Sekulich (UC Riverside) Aryana Martinez (Sacramento State), and Jinan Said (Saddleback Community College)

- She is the first Bulldog goalkeeper to see minutes as a true freshman since Kaydence Cortez-Garcia in 2022, both of whom are valley natives and graduated from Clovis West High School

The 2026 Fresno State women's soccer roster features nine players that come from the Central Valley,
- Transfers Daisy Torres and Alexis Dueker, redshirt sophomore Marissa Garza, and freshman Kaitlyn Conner are natives of Clovis, California, as all four players made lasting impacts at Buchanan High School
- Sophomore Abigail Herren played soccer at Fresno Christian High School, where she was tabbed the Fresno Bee Player of the Year in 2025
- Aniston Renovato, a junior from Fresno, California, attended Bullard High School where she was named CMAC Player of the Year in 2022 as a sophomore and was a four-time All-CMAC selection
- Freshman Jewelisa Gomez was a four year varsity starter for Clovis West High School, where she tabbed Goalkeeper of the year during the 2025-2026 season and was a 2x First Team All-League selection
- Senior Katie Morris joined the Bulldogs after playing four years at Clovis North High School and junior Hayden Crotty-Romero holds valley roots as a native of Modesto, California, where she played four seasons at James C. Enochs High School.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT - LONG BEACH STATE
- Fresno State and Long Beach State will be meeting for the ninth time in program history
- The Beach leads the series with a 1-7-0 record over the Bulldogs
- In their last match in 2023, Fresno State fell to Long Beach State 1-0 at home (Sept. 3)
- Long Beach State holds a 1-0-1 record on the season, and is coming off a 1-0 victory over Colgate at home on Sunday

- UC Santa Barbara holds a slight edge in the series with a 8-7-3 record over Fresno State
- Last season, UC Santa Barbara defeated Fresno State at Bulldog Soccer Stadium by a final score of 2-0 (Aug. 28)
- The Gauchos are 1-0-0 on the season, winning their season opener at home vs. LMU, 1-0.
