2019 (Senior): Chastain appeared in 39 games as a senior... made 21 starts with 11 starts in right field and 10 in left field... hit .205 from the plate with 17 hits...drove in six RBI and scored 12 runs... tallied two doubles and drew eight walks... stole four bases... hit by two pitches... laid down seven sacrifice bunts... tallied three two-hit performances against Missouri State (Feb. 24) and at Tennessee (March 8 &9)... scored a run in 11 games scoring a season-high two on April 13 in the first game of a doubleheader against Air Force... drove in two RBI at Tennessee on March 9.
2018 (Junior): Appeared in 16 games as a junior... made two starts in right field against Houston Baptist on Feb. 24 in the second game of DH against the Huskies & Feb. 25... collected two hits in 13 at-bats... scored two runs and drew two walks... recorded his first career hit on March 10 against New Mexico (March 10)... added a single against CSUN (April 10).
Prior to Fresno State: Attended Sacramento City College from 2014-17... Big 8 Conference Player of the Year... Rawlings Pacific Association Third-Team All-American selection... hit .322 from the plate on the season in 2017, including .343 in conference play, totaling 56 hits, including 10 doubles, two triples, one home run, and added 42 RBIs, 34 runs scored and 13 stolen bases.
High School: Graduated from Rio Americano High School in Sacramento in 2014 where he was a two-year letter winner for the Raiders... earned All-Capital Valley Conference honors as well as was being named a Sacramento Optimist All-Star selection... named the Rio Americano Team MVP... hit .451 from the plate in his two years on varsity adding a .570 on-base percentage.
Personal: Son of Darin and Cindy Chastain.... has an older brother, Christian... communications major at Fresno State... choose to be a Bulldogs because it was a great opportunity to further his academic and athletic career... favorite athlete was Ken Griffey, Jr. growing up because of his beautiful swing... born on June 29, 1996
